Crystal Taste Award 2018
The Crystal Taste Award is granted to products that have received 3 stars, 3 years in a row. These products have been successfully blind-tasted 3 years in a row by 3 different panels of judges with a score of 90% or above. This year's competition gathered a record number of products from around the world that received recognition. Of the 1885, 513 were rewarded with one star, 1020 with two stars and 352 with three stars. The specificity at the International Taste Institute is that the taste evaluation are done by professional taste experts. Products are tested by large panels amongst more than 200 Chefs & Sommeliers from the most prestigious European culinary associations.
ITI is the most important independent organization of gastronomic experts, chefs and sommeliers, dedicated to testing and promoting the superior taste of food and beverages. The jury that tests and nominates the winners of the Crystal Taste Award distinctions is made up of 200 representatives of the most important European specialized associations. Among them, Ferran Centelles, chief sommelier of the El Bulli Foundation, Manuel Jimenez, Spain's best sommelier in 2017, Alain Nonnet, 36-year-old Michelin 2-star chef, Alan Coxon, international chef and presenter of his own gastronomic program at BBC TV.
